Meta has started building a new data centre in Tulsa, Oklahoma, valued at over $1 billion, Reuters reported. It aims to expand its AI infrastructure and computing capacity. The project is expected to generate over 1,000 construction jobs and around 100 operational roles after completion. However, environmental and consumer groups are pushing back against the energy-intensive expansion.
