Man who held 17 children hostage in Mumbai dies after gunfight with police

Rohit Arya, the man who took 17 children hostage in Mumbai's Powai area on Thursday, has died after being injured in an exchange of gunfire with police. According to police, Arya shot at police using an air gun during a rescue operation, prompting the police to return one round of fire. All 17 children were safely rescued.

A man identified as Rohit Arya released a video after taking around 17 children hostage in a studio in Mumbai. In the video, he said he wants to speak with a few people and if he's not allowed, he'd set everything on fire and harm the kids and himself. Police safely rescued the children and took the kidnapper in custody.

India-South Africa to break tradition, take tea before lunch in Guwahati Test

The reason for the early tea is Guwahati's early sunset. The match will also start at 9 am, instead of usual 9:30 am start in India.

Puma to cut 900 jobs

German sportswear maker Puma has said it would cut 900 jobs in its corporate workforce globally by the end of 2026. Puma also announced a series of measures to revive the business and combat sharp sales declines. The company had already cut 500 roles worldwide as part of a cost-cutting program announced in March.

17-year-old cricketer dies after being hit by ball in Australia

Ben Austin, a 17-year-old Australian cricketer, died after being struck in the head and neck area by a ball while training in Melbourne. Austin was warming up in nets before a T20 match on Tuesday when the incident occurred. He was reportedly facing throw-downs from a ball launcher. He was placed on life support, but later succumbed to his injuries.
