Two drivers, Arun Mishra and Sunil Sharma, were arrested for extortion after complaints were lodged. Frank Coffman, an American national, was extorted by Arun, who "snatched Coffman’s phone to cancel ride and forcibly took ₹1,300 from him before fleeing". Additionally, a police officer and security guard are under inquiry for allegedly assaulting a shopkeeper for refusing to pay extortion money.
