The eight Indian crew members out of the 16 who were detained by Iran in December 2025 have been cleared for release and will return to India after completing formalities, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said. "With regards to the remaining eight sailors, we are in touch with the Iranian authorities...we will see how best to support them," he added.
