Removing 'zombie' cells reverses liver damage in mice: Study

University of California researchers discovered a harmful group of dysfunctional "zombie" immune cells driving aging and fatty liver disease. They found that these cells build up in aging tissues and in people with high cholesterol. The removal of these cells in mice caused inflammation to drop and liver damage to reverse, despite the animals continuing to eat an unhealthy diet.
