India restored 21.76 million hectares of degraded and deforested land between 2011 and 2020, according to a report by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). This accounts for 84% of its target of restoring 26 million hectares by 2030 under Bonn Challenge. Launched in 2011, Bonn Challenge aims to restore 350 million hectares of degraded landscapes globally by 2030.
