Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak announced that the state government has banned Coldrif cough syrup that led to the death of 11 children in Madhya Pradesh. "It's very sad that many children have lost their lives...Our government has never bought such cough syrup," he added. The Health Ministry confirmed that Coldrif syrup contained diethylene glycol (DEG) beyond permissible limits.
