Why did Indian stock market rise today?
Sensex jumped over 600 points to close at 77,537.72 on Thursday, while Nifty snapped a seven-session losing streak, rising 0.64% to end at 24,231.85. A recovery in Asian stocks, easing US bond yields, buying by foreign institutional investors and inflows into IT stocks contributed to the gains. The Indian rupee also opened stronger against the US dollar, improving investor sentiment.
